Re: Thoughts on Why and what Could be done?

When I look at families I know, the main one's where the kids went wrong, were the ones where the parents didn't have that much interest in what the kids were up to.
In our family we were always encouraged that we should do well at school and go to college or university, our parents wanted to know what we were up to, who our friends were etc.
There are very few close family members who have ever been unemployed, and the few that were did their utmost to get another job, even if it meant doing some sort of more menial work until they managed to get a job in the trade they were trained for.
It's a question of pride, if I ever end up on the dole, it wont be because I haven't done my best to find employment.
