Thanks for all your input... grangers and Antie Em,
Have to admit I'm a bit 'lost' with this one! :-?

My dad grew up on Henry Street and I recognise most of those street names from my dad's side of the tree. I guess all of these families would have known each other and intermarried...that's why it's so complicated!!... and with my dad's tree full of KETTLES, EVANS, TAYLORS, HEWITTS , DEARNES and HACKETTS.... it's tricky :!:

I cant see a birth for a Jane Proctor. Can see a possible for Jane Taylor

Also that possible marriage is here on freesearch and doesnt include a fathers name for Jane
Jane Taylor
England Marriages, 1538-1973

birth 1855
marriage 25 Dec 1879 -West Bromwich, Stafford, Eng.
spouse: James Morgan

record title: England Marriages, 1538-1973
groom's name: James Morgan
groom's birth date: 1859
groom's age: 20
bride's name: Jane Taylor
bride's birth date: 1855
bride's age: 24
marriage date: 25 Dec 1879
marriage place: West Bromwich, Stafford, Eng.
groom's father's name: James Morgan
indexing project (batch) number: M05521-3
system origin: England-VR
source film number: 1526219

It does look like Charles Morgan is as Grand son on the 1901 census with the proctor family too.

Added Edward Taylor census and children here
http://www.bcconnections.tribalpages.co ... lor-Family

William Proctor census and children here but have not added Jane as his daughter and added a not for her
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =560541883

I think if we check Janes Marriage record and see what that shows?

Now I have lost the plot of William has a father as Joseph?

Thanks for adding all of that granger14.

I think I 'lost the plot' a while ago

Yes... William has a Joseph TAYLOR down as his father. I can email you the marriage certificate if you would like.

I thought I had this all worked out a couple of months ago.... found a Joseph TAYLOR and family... it all seemed to fit.. then I found a 1901 census with a William TAYLOR still listed with the rest of that household.. and single... and suddenly it didn't fit any more... because he would have been married by then!
Why do there have to be so many TAYLORS :?

The marriage info for William is on BCC thanks expat.

Other than asking the local reg office for a birth with mothers maiden name as Hewitt and see if it gives a clue where he was born I dont think we can go any further?

I have added the marriage for Jane to be looked up to see if a father does show up and if the witnesses help.

Archive?
Jo :)
