Aha....she appears as Mary Randle in the 1881 census.....that the clincher but we still need to check the marriage.

And one of her daughters is living with the Saxons in 1901....

Hello, my wife's great x 2 grandparents were Henry John Saxon and Mary Anne Randle. Mary Ann Randle's parents were William Randle and Patience Homer. When William and Patience were married in 1853, she named her father as Abel Homer, occupation Puddler.

So is Patience another dau or is she Mary?

I have stuck her in my tree as Patience Mary Homer.

In the 1841, 1851 and 1881 census she is called Mary.

In the 1861, 1871 and 1891 census she is called Patience.

There is a Mary A Randle married to a Thomas who was born in Tipton in about 1835 in a couple of census.

Haven't found Patience/Mary in the 1901 census.

She died in 1905 as Patience Randle.

Do you fancy updating BCC with what we can on this Mark
and adding a note re the name in notes?
As I am not too sure what to add

I will go in an update and then we can see what needs looking up.

I am chasing up some more details before I populate BCC any more but one thing that bothers me is the the death dates for both Mary and William.

I had Patience's death as 4th Qtr 1905 6b 476.

But this may be William in the 1901 census as a Widower....and since I cant find Patience in the 1901 census...
