rite we are off the starting blocks

I need the birth place of James and Emma and that marriage to ensure that the parents are
John and George

so need em on census in 1881 pls
and that marriage if you dont have it can be looked up
you would need to add to look ups

dive in anyone and add what you think
brain had it

It really boils down to what is fact on certificates. You must work back from the latest record you have, back them up by looking at records or certificates.
Do you have transcripts from Scotland or have you seen images?
Do you have census details in Scotland?
Can we go by the latest information and go back? It would be much easier and also to add to BCC?

I think Kay has the birth cert for James
so if that is mother on that birth cert emma Ball
and father James Rollinson
then that 1873 fits

so I can look that up unless Kay has it
but I jsut thought ahead of that

anything on the 1881 census for these 2
and the other census
might have a clue with parents

but as you say Jo this is why certifs and verifying are imp

I'd first like to know the latest census? Say 1911 or 1901?
That would be a good start?

May be, if you have it Kay, you could put on a more recent information you have. Like who James, g father married, where he was living etc? Then we can go from there? All the variations of Rollinsons let alone Robinsons! Just my thoughts any how.
Jo :)

Well done Jo!
It took me weeks of searching to find them what with all the variations of spaelling. I have them on 1901 as well and I have census information for Ball as well!
