What occupation shows for William on the birth certificates?

The father is always a labourer or nailor on the birth certs, same as 99.9% of all my Black Country Fords, Cutlers and Homers

I think this marriage to Moore is unrelated and it is a pity they didn't put age on there to help eliminate it easier.

I doubt a de-facto relationship for this couple as they were Church going types with a strict moral compass.

There are some other Cutler/Clarke marriages worth looking at so let me see how they fit by working backwards...

I really hate this one....

I have been following the trail of the William Cutler who married Sarah Moore and he is the son of a Daniel Cutler and Hannah.

Somebody already listed here the 1841 census that shows a Daniel Cutler born abt 1791 who is a White Smith with a son, William, born abt 1826, who is also a White Smith.

On the Cutler/Moore marriage certificate, William is a White Smith and so is his father so we can assume that the 1841 Census refers to this William.

That 1841 Census also has Hannah that appears to be of the right age to be William's mother.

Following on to the 1851 and 1861 Census and checking the IGI, this Daniel Cutler looks to be born and christened in 1875 in West Brom and the son of a John Cutler and Sarah.

The Hannah was born about 1784 in Droitwich Blind, Worcestershire.

I am tracing this Cutler branch to see if it connects to the one in the BCC.

William Cutler and Sarah Moore had 9 children and I have been tracing them as well.

Just to clarify - Is this a typing error and should be born and christened in 1775?

or maybe it is his second wife?

if you get further info and we need to look at/amend the tree we can do so if the evidence is good

or have we 2 Williams marrying 2 Sarahs with 2 Daniels as father!

seems bit unususal that though but of course entirely possible
will leave this and take the arc status off

I really really hate the Cutlers.

I have now got hundreds of more Cutlers in my tree but I am yet to make a connection with "my" Cutlers.

You have two William Cutlers with a Daniel as their father.

The one born and christened in 1820 in Halesowen who marries Sarah Clarke around 1845-46.

The other was born a christened in 1824 in West Brom and marries a Sarah Moore in 1846.

The 1820 William and his relatives move to Oldbury and Birmingham.

The 1824 William Cutler and his realtives never move from West Brom.

Two Cutler lines that may not have a common relative as I have just found the 1785 Daniel's father and he is also West Brom....

Traced both lines back a bit further and they may join somewhere is Halsowen in the late 1600's.

Still no closer to solving the Clarke marriage though....
