Interesting find and I think this is our Mary who married Henry Male and daughter of Susannah appearing on the 1841 census with her two daughters, siblings and mother. I think Henry her husband may have died pre 1841 census and she remarried Caleb as stated but must have died pre 1848 because Caleb remarrys Caroline Westwood St Thomas church, Dudley in 1848.

I've just found the marriage of William & Susannah in 1827 hence only their last child was Baptised 1828 John Hall.

Gosh this is proving a real nightmare to sort out

I've just found the marriage entry for Caroline daughter of William & Susannah Hall but again she's another one who weds under the surname Jones

We know this is our Caroline because she and Henry witness Harriet & William Hadley's marriage but Harriet marries under the surname Hall

All the evidence indicates that Susannah marries Isaac Jones and then lived with William Hall out of wedlock from 1819 onwards given the Bapt of their first child Joseph Hall Jones in 1820. Then for some reason they decide to marry in 1827 and their last child is bapt John Hall while all the others are given their mother's marriage name of Jones.

I'm wondering did Susannah ever marry this Isaac Jones ????

The witnesses on Williams & Susannah's marriage entry really interest me and maybe they are related to William or Susannah but I've drawn a complete blank on finding any Bap or marriage details. Any ideas on William Meller or Sarah Wainwright and if/how they tie in with William or Susannah.

I'm confident they are the same person and the lodger is Susan Hall niece of Caroline.

Caroline also appears on her sisters Harrietts marriage entry.

On the 1841 census Kitty is the name used but on the 1851 census she's known as Caroline.
