quite a few trees on Ancestry you could contact and see if Dorothy Cox b abt 1898 went by name of Auntie Tot
one of the trees has a photo on of a Dorothy cox

This is all I know;

Auntie Tot lived in Lower Gornal in a detached house where I visited taken there by my grandmother in about 1952.
I do not know if she was related to her she never said. I have spoken to my mother and she does not know anything about her.
Grandmother was born in 1899 in Peterborough, her mother was not married and had gone there to have the child.
There is no evidence on any of the certificates or census of a relationship that I can find.
Grandma was married in South London - no connections on the marriage certificate.

This seems like a lost cause as I have no information what so ever except the box with John Raybould 1859.
As you say it might pay to investigate the marriage in 1924 .

the olny other poss is to visit lower gornal and try to recognises the house if its still there ?

or use google maps for a look around

remember any land marks ?
any old post cards or letters in the family from gornal area ?

Regretfully I have no letters, photographs or post cards ,I only visited twice and I live in London.

The marriage details could be promising as deep down the name of Flavell strikes a very distrant bell. I need to investigate further.
