the point is mark as im a british tax payer i have a right to comment about where the money spent no matter which public purses they come from and what intrests it makes, as for the two members of the royal family di & the queen mothers the funerals were what the majority of the people wanted not so in this case
......And you talk about me being polite ????????? yes I have another site with people not so touchy as YOU

it not about being touchy its about manners and the way you come over

My apologies Milkleed.

I misread something and my only excuse is I have been up three nights looking after my dog who was poisoned.

She almost died and I have had about 4 hours sleep this week, which is pretty bad for a narcoleptic.

So take my ramblings from Sunday night onwards with a pinch of salt.

I will now exit this subject before I swallow my other foot.

Mark I am so sorry to hear about your dog, that is awful, I do hopes she will recover. I didn't start the Maggie Thread for everyone to fall out over it! She was someone I truly admire, and I very much respect your knowledge and intelligence. Just to add a couple of points, Harold Wilson closed more Pits than Maggie did and her funeral was signed off and arranged under the last Government. Nothing to do with David Cameron who was just the Leader of the Opposition at the time. There is an awful lot of miss information flying around at the moment.

I admire Maggie Thatcher for being a stateswoman in a man's world , as I do any other woman that makes it to the top . It is only the policies of the time that I disagree with.Mark should be allowed to say what he thinks is right,as should we all .Men and woman died in two great wars to give us the freedom to say those things.
It's easy to stand with the crowd . It takes courage to stand alone

Yes I totally agree DT, Mark makes many a good point, as did Peter, both of whom I respect. Think the Maggie debate, not just here but Countrywide has got out of control, people loose a sense of proportion. Maggie wasn't perfect, but no PM is or was, and none of us are. I am shocked by how the level of hate some people have for one woman who was trying to do the right thing, whether it was right or not, maybe history will judge. Linell.
