Hi, to all admin and forum members. My name is Bill Longmore and I live in Larne Co Antrim in Northern Ireland. My father was born at 13 Moor Lane in Kingswinford, Brierley Hill February 1918. He had two brothers, Stan b 1919 and Bill b 1924. Dad was conscripted January 1940 and sent to the 12th Batt of the Royal Warwickshire Regt. which was posted to Larne in Northern Ireland. This is where he met and married my mother and after he went through Europe with the Royal artillery they settled back in Larne. I discovered the surname section yesterday and was surprised to find my Gt, Gt, Gt, granddad on there. His name is Thomas Longmore b1790, married Mary Baker on Christmas Day 1813 in Sedgley. They had a daughter Hannah who married Samuel Raybould, they also had a son William born in Tipton whose first wife died and he remarried a widow Phoebe Bytheway 1854. Hopefully this lets you know roughly who I am and my background.

Hello Bill - I know you from Rootsweb too. Welcome to the forum.

I have Longmore's in my mom's side - Mary Jane Longmore, born abt 1861 in Walsall, daur of John Longmore and Alice Sutton.
There's no place like home ......
