Re: Get yer pinny on we are having a COOK OFF! starting January!

Post by gardener »

OK I confess
I made the fish pie yesterday because my fish-hating-cheese-loathing son is due back home tomorrow.

I used 50% haddock and 50% sea-trout (was going to use salmon but the shop didn't have any).
The outcome was delicious and four of us finished the whole thing, along with some salad.

The only thing I would change would be to skip the boiled egg which I never quite see the point of in a fish pie. I thought the cheese scone topping was much better than mashed potatoe which is what I have used before.

So well done Carol!

I (may) have uploaded a photo to the gallery section so if it is allowed you can all see the proof of my participation

I am glad you think it is funny Pete
He has been in Paris for five days and it will be interesting to see how many times he ate at McDonalds.

 Not allowed - total fire ban. Eating out in air-conditioned restaurants is the go! ... with a little chilled white wine - just to keep the temperature down

Can we get back on topic ! I haven't the powers of deletion!!
Listen can we be serious please?
When we've cooked our dish do we take a digital photo and put it on here?
So presentation is probably the most important issue? :?

Champagne's chilling, NL. Get over here!

Oh Rob! I DO apologise most humbly! Photos and silver service, naturally. In virtual appreciation, presentation is everything.
