Hello just wondering if anyone can help figure this out please?

This is my Phoebe Kendrick, b abt 1843, daug of James and Sarah on connections -

Can't find her after 1861 but there is a marriage I thought could be her, which has been kindly looked up for me...

So this Phoebe's age fits, and the father's occupation (bricklayer) matches James, but father Joseph? Funny thing is James has a brother Joseph also a bricklayer but as far as I'm aware he didn't have a daug Phoebe too. James died 1846. Can't seem to find another Phoebe and father Joseph on census?

Anyone got a better explanation please?

Hi Peter, that Phoebe Brooks is a different one, I have seen her on the census will just have a look and find it now.

Do you think maybe she put Joseph down cos he brought her up when bro James died?

Have you found Sarah the mother on the census?
did she remarry?

have you found Phoebe on the 1851?

Hi NL,

If you click the link I put to connections it has Phoebe and mum Sarah in '51 and '61. In '61 they were living with Sarah's son (also James). Dunno what happened to Sarah after that, think I found her in the workhouse but her age was mistranscribed as 19 instead of 69, will have to have a look at that but definitely don't think she remarried.

Phoebe's uncle Joseph, is on connections up until '71 think he died after that? And I'm still looking for the Phoebe Brooks one lol, I know she was with Kendricks that weren't mine on one census at least.

So we know who the Phoebe Brooks was daug of now. I remember finding this family before as I initially thought this William was mine. One of my Kendrick brothers is William b. 1814 and I was getting mixed up.

I still think the Phoebe Little could be my one but why she would name father as Joseph? Brain ache.

EDIT - See it all adds up, thanks for that census Jimmy. My Phoebe was born Stourbridge, the age matches, everything fits except for the father's name. I'm thinking like NL said she just said Joseph as her father as her own dad was dead. But has anyone experienced ancestors doing this before? Can't think of another explanation really.
