Di do you not think then that the Arthur with that Benjamin in 1881 and then that Benjamin with father James in 1861 and James father Benjamin living with them is the correct one?

That arthur just seems to fit and if not that one where is Arthur on 1881?

If it is that lot on connections then that is great!

but then as you say that Hannah is for a different Benjamin something aint rite here..... :?

that would work wouldnt it and then it would fit with this one

1881 11 Scholding Green, Rowley Regis, Stafford,
Benjamin TROMANS. Head M Male 30 Colley Gate, Worcester, Striker For Chain.
Lucy TROMANS. Wife M Female 31 K N, Stafford,
Frederick S. TROMANS. Son Male 1 Rowley Regis, Stafford,
Arthur TROMANS. Half Brother Male 6 Dudley, Worcester, Scholar.

I can look up the marriage of Lucy and Arthur then that one of James and Ellen
and then the one of this Benj and Lucy( check father is a James)

what do you think ?

Yes, I think those families seem to fit. The ages are are a bit rubbery, but the names are all good.

The Hannah to John Brookes marriage needs clarifying, though. Looks like same Hannah, but siblings are totally different.

Looking good. So we have Benjamin working out as half-brother to Arthur, and Benjamin's mother as Eliza. Can't see a marriage for James Tromans to an Eliza pre-1849.

trouble is on that Hannah the father will be Benj and it could be either one.
fathers occup should be on
and her age and witnesses.

so if on that marriage Benj the father is a jews harp maker then we add the info to the one with bro James b 1827 and delete from the other Hannah.

wonder what the other Benjamins occup was?

I think this one I flagged earlier is the rite one but for some reason the age for James and perhaps father benjamin is out...but Phoebe the dau is age 12 so that fits with the one Di found

and Benjamin son is age 10 so that fits too!

1861 Cradley Rd RR
James Tromans h wid 60 chainmaker b RR-----prob wrong age
Phebe dau unm 12 b RR
Benjamin son 10 b Worcs Cradley
Esther dau 8 b worcs Cradley
James son 7 b Worcs Cradley
Benjamin father widow 80 b RR-----prob wrong age

and this is the one Di found

At Windmill Hill, Cradley
James Tromans Head 28 Chainmaker b. Staffs., Rowley
Eliza Tromans Wife 25 Chainmaker b. Worcs., Lye
Phoebe Tromans Daur 2 b. Worcs., Cradley
Benj Tromans Son 1 b. Worcs., Cradley
Mirah Cox Servant 11 b. Worcs., Cradley

and on the 1861 2 households down a family called Cox

wot u think?

Oops, just found this ...

1861 Private house next to Club Buildings, Rowley Regis
Benjamin Tromans Head 75 Jew's Harp Maker b. Staffs., Rowley Regis
Job Taylor Son-in-law 29 Labourer b. Staffs., Rowley Regis
Rhoda Taylor Daughter 30 Nailer b. Staffs., Rowley Regis

So looks like Benjamin, the father of the family at http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=bcconnections&view=0&pid=7891&rand=678767753

might not be the father of James living with him in 1861. (Rhoda fibbing about age???)

And ...
1851 - Club Building, Rowley Regis
Benjamin Tromans Head 64 Jew's Harp Maker b. Staffs., Rowley Regis
Rhoda Tromans Daur 27 Nailer b. Staffs., Rowley Regis
George Tromans Son 25 Jew's Harp Maker b. Staffs., Rowley Regis
William Tromans Grandson 10 Scholar b. Staffs., Rowley Regis
Ann Cooper Inmate (Daughter?) Widow 31 Nailer b. Staffs., Rowley Regis
John Brooks Inmate (Son-in-law?) 24 Bricklayer b. Staffs., Sedgley
Hannah Brooks Inmate (Daughter?) 21 Nailer b. Staffs., Rowley Regis

Looks like the Hannah who married John Brookes is the daughter of Benjamin and Hannah at URL above. Also looks like this Benjamin's daughter, Ann, also married a Cooper - possibly brother to her sister-in-law, Nancy Cooper.

I'm confused. Everything checks out as 18chestnut says here:
18chestnut wrote:Benjamin Tromans was the father of James and grandfather of Arthur.
He was born in Rowley regis in1789.
His other children were ---
George b1826 in RR
Rhoda b1824 in RR
Ann b1820 in RR
Hannah b1830in RR MARRIED John Brookesb1827

Children of James Tromans and Ellen Hadley are--.
Arthur b 1874 Primrose Hill
Alfred b1867
Williamb1870
Alice b1870

except that James' father, Benjamin is with him in 1861:

and the father of
George b1826 in RR
Rhoda b1824 in RR
Ann b1820 in RR
Hannah b1830in RR MARRIED John Brookesb1827

seems to be with Rhoda in 1861:
