I had a look at this last nite and there are 2 Arthur Tromans in 1901 one with wife Lizzie and one with wife Lucy

Arthur and Ellen have the one b Dudley Wood married to Lizzie

That was the one I saw with Arthur as a half brother.

I think the Arthur and Ellen one with Arthur and Lizzie fits and is ok

but this one married to Lucy marsh may be that James and Ellen one

and who is she? Ellen Griffiths- was she prev a Hadley?


and to be honest Jimmy it could well be that other Elizabeth married to arthur

I think that this may be the father of Arthur ie the James
he is on the 1861 census with son Benjamin who Arthur is living with in 1881 ( as a half brother) see following

So James's father a Benjamin is living with them aged 80 so born 1781.

then James marries in 1865 to Ellen
they have Arthur
and in 1881 for some reason half brother Arthur is with Benj and wife Lucy
maybe visiting?

So just wondered where the dob of 1827 for James came from?
is it from that marriage in 1865?
were the ages put down?

need to find this James on prev census and poss look up that marriage for Benj and Lucy see if father is a James
