Another newbie!
I am an on/off sort of researcher with months of frenzied research followed by months of inactivity.
Have been researching my family for about five years but so far only using the Internet and the GRO for BMD Certificates.
With Ancestry and Family Search I have taken one branch of the family back to 1635 but about 30% of my ancestors were from Ireland and without any other census details for place of birth for church records they are a dead end.
I have pretty much exhausted the Ancestry opportunities and have let my subscription lapse.
Am now trying to flesh out some of the details of lives, occupations and social history.

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Re: Hello
Hi Tommo, Welcome!
I do understand what you're saying about Irish ancestors, but don't give up on them, occasionally a new source of information pops up. and I'm certain there are parish records tucked away that the authorities never got their hands on.
Where do your Irish folks hail from?
