*Archive?* Marriage of Samuel BAYLISS and Alice COTTOM
I am trying to confirm if Samuel Bayliss and Alice COTTOM were actually married. The 1881 Census has them as married and living at 8 Alexander Street Birmingham Warwickshire with Alice's parents Henry and Alice COTTON.
I have it that Alice was born in Oct 1863 (father Henry, mother Alice) and Samuel in July 1856 (father also Samuel and mother Sarah).
I was given this information: Alice married (MRIN:4864) Samuel BAYLISS-15250.
Being a little new at this family tree research I am not sure what those numbers mean.
There doesn't appear to be a record of them having married.

Makes out they are married here. They had a son Charles Henry Bayliss and his birth certificate says his mother was Alice Bayliss formerly Cottom.
Haven't been able to find out if and when they married.

Don't think that's the right family Jimmy. Samuel's father was also Samuel and his mother was Sarah Rooke.
1861 Census they are living at Court 8 Lench Street, Birmingham. Warwickshire.

No can't find it. It appears as though Alice Cottom's parent weren't married either. Henry was her father and her mother was also Alice.

Top marks Jimmy!!
Samuel Bayliss and Alice Cottom may have died early as I can only find that they had one son - Charles Henry Bayliss.
I found a Charles Bayliss in the 1881 Census living in a Coventry Union Workhouse.

I'll just have a look at the marriage in St Peter's parish records - it will be the original and tell us the witnesses names, sometimes it is even a father.
