*Arc tbc* ---Possible Cutler-Hadley connection on BCC.

Post by MarkCDodd »

According to some family trees, one of my Cutler cousins...

http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=bcconnections&view=0&pid=56146&ver=34650

Is the wife of a Henry Hadley whose parents happen to be this couple.

http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=bcconnections&view=0&pid=57236&ver=34650

Children of William and Sarah Unknown are supposed to be:

Henry Hadley. b 1820 Oldbury

Joseph Hadley b 1823 Olbury

Elizabeth Hadley b 1826 Halesowen

Ann Hadley b 1831 Halesowen

Benjamin Hadley b 1834 Halesowen

Ephraim Hadley b 1836 Oldbury

This differs greately from what is on BCC.

This is the 1841 census they quote for the family.

1841 census transcription details for: Tatbank, Halesowen, Warley Wighorn
National Archive Reference:
RG number: HO107 Piece: 1197 Book/Folio: 10/27 Page: 19

Reg. District: West Bromwich Sub District: Oldbury
Parish: Halesowen Enum. District:

HADLY, Epraim M 5 1836 Worcestershire

The marriage between Henry (Harry) Hadley and Sarah Cutler is supposed to be this one.

Could be different, but the Anna Hadley on the census (which is very hard to read) could very well be the Hannah Hadley on BCC.

There is not much evidence to support the 1841 family quoted for Hannah.

Probably need to look at the baptisms mark - hopefully they will say where they are living and the father's occupation.

The WIlliam Hadley on the 1841 census I quoted is a Nailer which matches what is on Hannah's marriage record.

I think the BCC is correct as I found a Baptism for a Hannah Hadley in 1837 (her siblings were baptised the same day).

The place of abode is Combs Hill, also knows as "The Hill" as shown in the 1841 census on BCC.

Name Hannah Hadley
Father's Name William Hadley
Mother's Name Sarah Hadley
Date of Baptism 26 February 1837
Abode Combs Hill
Parish Halesowen

Another baptism for a Hannah Hadley whose parents abode is "The Hill" occurs in 1835.

Name Hannah Hadley
Father's Name William Hadley
Mother's Name Sarah Hadley
Date of Baptism 16 February 1835
Abode The Hill
Parish Halesowen

I think my Henry (Harry) is a close relative but not of the same family.....

I think they are all born in Warley Wigorn.
