Uggh !!! I hate English chips!!
Dutch patat are really lekker!! Far better than the English chips and i've been to Ivans down Cradley and that place in Sheldon on the way to Birmingham Airport, they're closed now, what was the name from up 't'north somewhere.
Majors's from Bilston's battered chips sound ok so i'll have a try of those next time.
Back in the 50's my dad used to take me on the bus from Oldbury to Blackheath on a saturday night, just before "Tales of the Foreign Legion" introduced by Boris Karloff, for Savouries( battered scallops) from a fish and chip van parked outside The Ashley pub.
They were ,if my memories not playing tricks, delicous!!

Hate Harry Ramsdens, they're like the ones from Westwoods in Blackheath - leave a coating in your mouth.
