Re: Hingley/Birch/Tandy/Johnson
Hang on, 1881 has MOGG as Lydia's Grandfather (must be from the distaff side as otherwise it would be Hadley) but Adin's marriage in 1860 is to Ann EVANS, so Ann Evans should have been William Mogg's daughter, was it her second marriage?

Not having seen the relevant document I can't tell but could this be that MOGG is Kesterdon's Grandfather and that the entry for the Hadley sisters actually relates to 70 Wrights Lane? kgw does say that "Image looks like G Daur live at 70". Is there an entry pinning the Hadley's to No. 70?kdw wrote:Possible Lydis S Hadley

I would agree with kgw and FMP the Hadley's are recorded as Granddaughter's but are also recorded as new household there is a \\ between George and Pamela.
Perhaps Adin etc owned the house but didn't always stay there and as Pamela was under age could not be recorded as HEAD but had to be under Grandfather's protection!

Re: Hingley/Birch/Tandy/Johnson
But Mogg wasn't her Grandfather.
Might the property have been split into two premises? But why weren't the girls living with their father at the Neptune? After all, ten years later Lydia and Adin (as a widower) were living with sister Pamela and son-in-law Richard Ellis at 71 Cradley Road which means that Ann (née Evans) had died by then. What had happened to Maria? By the way, might she be the witness to her sister's Pamela's marriage? She would only have been 18 though, would it have been allowed.
Interesting that they are both the same house number, could Wrights Lane RR be the same as Cradley Road RR?
If Adin remarried to Ann Raybould after 1891(is there an actual date for that?) he seems to have dropped off the census by 1901 but there are a few Ann Hingleys for that year. Lydia had been married to James Hingley by then.
Incidentally there seems to be a 9 yr old Lydia Hingley in the area in 1901.

The "70" & "71" are actual house numbers as they're written after the street name. The schedule numbers are
"181" & "182".
Some mistakes are too much fun

They are usually schedule numbers but in this case they do seem to be house numbers as they are not in the first column where there are different schedule numbers.
Also remember if filled in correctly the census do not say where people are living but where they are sleeping on the night of the census so it could have been that the parents were just away for that night and the g daug is just the enumerator trying to make sense of notes later as they sometimes just made notes at the door and then transcribed them again later hence forgetting that they had written for example J and misremebered it as James when it should have been John and thus confusing us further!

Re: Hingley/Birch/Tandy/Johnson
I've checked the maps and Wrights Lane and Cradley Road are unlikely to be the same road. So there are two different premises 70 & 71, is there any way to find out the inhabitants and owners of each premise?
