My Mom's Birthday Today

Just like to share with everyone. My mom was born in Tipton on the 5 January 1919. She worked in a foundry most of her life Core Making - when mom says it it sounds like cower meckin. She raised 5 daughters, worked hard make sure we all had a good education and morals. She is still very active, does her own housework, goes "up Dudley" shopping, has a garden most people would die for - we help with the heavy work but she does the rest herself. She makes the best black country faggots, bread pudding and pickled everything in the world. She packed up smoking when she was 80 !!! Well done Mom

And she is 92 Today - Brilliant :grin:

Antie Em......I bet she's a lovely Black Country Lady and proud of it !.....my mother died at 89 smoked all her life except last two weeks before she died.

I wish my mom would stop smoking!! She's 83 but still smokes and she won't listen to me!!

My mom had to really. She was getting something off the top of the wardrobe and fell off a chair, and broke her shoulder. It hurt so much when she coughed that she had to pack it in.

Thanks everyone for your lovely wishes. I'll show them to her her on the laptop at the weekend

My sister and her daughter took her out shopping yesterday and then took her for lunch. She had a birthday cake at Julie's later with 92 candles on it. She had a lovely day.

I hope I've got her genes, she had black wavy hair and didn't go grey until her 70's, she's hardly ever worn makeup or even moisturiser and has hardly a wrinkle.

Hate to say it Rob, but he's right! Any way if her heart's not in it, she wont be able to quit! However, if she wants to give her all the support she needs!
