and in the West mids too
I wish! That'd mean it was getting warmer! We've got about 15cm left here on the west coast, but over on Bornholm (island south of Sweden) the official figures are 135cm of snow with up to 5m drifts. Loads of people ended up spending Christmas at the local barracks or in a sports stadium as they'd arrived to spend Christmas with families but couldn't (and weren't allowed to ) get out to the smaller towns! It was -15 last night and -7 now at 10am!

Just got home and the rain has melted the snow, but the paths are now like a skating rink. When I went out at about 7.00, my car, which was parked against the pavement had the left hand wing mirror knocked off. Couldn't have been hit by a car, so was probably knocked off by someone slipping on the pavement. Not a happy pixie.

Oh Dianel how lucky you are wish you could send some over here. Like AuntieEm our driveway and footpaths were like skating rinks, all snow gone now and ok for walking today .
It's been above freezing most of the night (about 2-3 degrees), so some of the snow has melted. It sounded really wild last night - we have glazed tiles on our roof, so the the was sliding off, in mini avalanches - good job we weren't standing below!

Almost all gone now, although there's still a lot of ice about, where the snow got compacted. At least it not floods like in Oz - they said on the news that the area that is flooded is as big as germany and france put together!
