I have been the interviewer and interviewee on dozens of occasions.

Most embarassing moment for potential employee.

A very attractive young girl handed me her resume and asked if I had any salesperson positions available in my computer stores.

I always take the time to talk to enterprising Gen Y who have the guts to walk in and ask.

So I sat her down whilst I read her resume.

Then I asked her to read out a line onher resume and she says, "I have had three years extensive experience in public relations."

Nope, try again I said.

Then I saw her face turn bright red and she stuttered something and got up to leave.

It actually said "I have had three years extensive experience in PUBIC relations."

I sat her down and signed her up anyway and she was an excellent salesperson.

Most embarrasing moment as potential employee.

Had a very intense second interview for a position I really wanted when I was an IT Contractor.

They were firing questions left, right and centre and I thought I did pretty well.

I shook their hands and was leaving the office feeling quite chuffed when I walked straight into a closed, but very clean and clear, glass door.

I woke up on the floor with the chief interviewer performing first aid and a huge lump on my head.

I got the job but for a few months some smart aleck kept sticking up signs with arrows saying "Mark. Beware. Door!" even on normal doors.

Shortest Interview as potential employee.

I was trying to get a "golden handshake" from Telecom, our huge telecommunications company.

They were intent on keeping me so sent me off for an interview in a different part of the company.

First question was "This section is responsible for rolling out ISDN. What does ISDN stand for?"

I knew the answer which was Integrated Services Digital Network. But I certainly did not want the job so answered "It Still Does Nothing".

"I think that is all we need to know Mr Dodd. Thanks for your time".
