*Arc pending look up *--George SIVETER in B'ham/Dudley area
Hi,
I noticed that there are quite a few people on here from the West Midlands. One of my mother's great grandmother's had the maiden name SIVETER and I've managed to trace her roots to a George SIVETER, generally on the censuses his birth date is down as 1821 but on the Free Death Index it says abt 1818. Birth place is Birmingham, Warwickshire and his occupation was a labourer. On the 1841 census it seems he lives with a mixed bunch, all of which are agricultural workers in the Duddeston/Nechells area. By 1861, he was living in Rowley Regis which is where a great deal of SIVETER's over the years seem to have been born. Does anyone have any ideas on how to link up George SIVETER with any of the 1700 born SIVETER's that float around on the net!?! I'm equally stuck when it comes to his wife Sarah, as I'm unsure of the maiden name.
Thanks

Thanks Jimmy and Mallosa.
It is him on BCC. You'll have to mind my ignorance, as it's the first time I've seen that site today - is there anyway to find out the name of his parents on that site or is he the beginning of the tree?
The marriage looks good, as does the Levites/Siveter situation, thanks for the info

You would need the marriage cert or have it checked out at the archives.

Yes, as Jimmy said you need either of those
You could do with that marriage being looked up.
Go to the 'Main Board' then scroll down to
'Census, Civil & Parish Registration' - Click on 'Lookup Requests'

Re: George SIVETER in Birmingham/Dudley area
Yeah, it seems Thomas married Emma BROOKES, moved from Rowley Regis to St. Helens and later on to Skelmersdale/Lathom, their daughter Jane was my mum's great grandmother.Just about all of her family are from the North West, so it's a bit of a surprise to find some Black Country blood!

Re: George SIVETER in Birmingham/Dudley area
Thanks, it's quite likely.. my family have a pretty good track record of finishing off in the Workhouse, good job they've closed them down for my sake!! If Thomas and Jane Ann SIVETER do turn out to be his parents, where do I go from here? I'm never quite sure what to do once the birth dates get into the 1700s!
This is the Death that I was looking at:
Name: George SIVETER

Year of Registration: 1882
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun

Can't seem to find any record of him in the 1871 census though nor of Jane, Sarah or John but I'm fairly sure this is Thomas:

Where born: Cradley Heath, Staffordshire, England
Civil Parish: Aston
Ecclesiastical parish: St James
