He had a middle name, possibly Roland. He disappears after the 1920 US census. There may be a connection between the Yorkshire Kaye family and a later American marriage. At least one of the Yorkshire Kayes, Josiah, emigrated to Canada.

Looking through it all again, I wonder whether those little girls coming to Guelph House, Holmfirth, Yorkshire in 1924, Florence and Eleanor Skidmore, may not have been orphans. They lost their mother in 1922, perhaps Benjamin had died too by 1924, although there's no record. Perhaps they were to live with the Hobsons or Kayes on a permanent basis rather than just a visit?

hi the girls were adopted,though benjamin did not die he decided he could not look after them any more and dissapeared florence was my mother and came over here with eleanor when she was about 5 or 6 the ramsdens were over in the usa and brought them back to england,no one seems to have in the family seems to know what happend to him after.

hi dennis ,you posted benjamin married a second time in 1930 to a margaret perrett,i cant find a record of this .have you any more info on it that could point me in the right direction please
