Looking for a marriage for Ebenezer Beattie C:- 1903 possibly in Salford. His parents were Thomas Beattie & Elizabeth Grierson (they were born in Scotland) Ebenezer was born C:-1884 in Salford.I have no other information on him
A "possible" marriage may have been Jane Douglas ???

Hi Alec.
Thank you for the reply.

Looking at what you sent -- it would be unusual I believe for a girl to be named "Keith".I only had information passed to me with the name Jane
Both the census information that have supplied is correct, with the exception of spelling for Catherine. The Thomas in 1901 is/was my grandfather
who died some years back.
From memory, from him,he believed that Ebenezer possibly never left Salford?
I will get a certificate now with the information,& put this one to bed.

Again thank you for the help

Regards

But its her surname- no gender contradiction there and Douglas is not a given name but a patronymic surname!

JANE DOUGLAS Keith

-Your Ebenezer would be aged circa 17 at time of marriage which is why I had doubts -be interesting to see what the certificate says
