Something isn't right.
Polly was a nickname for Mary Ann in Victorian England but the ages on 1891 census for Thomas Beard don't add up.
Was he Mary Ann Yates son but not Joseph's?
Both she and Thomas were born West Bromwich and Joseph and Mary didn't marry till 1889.

I seem to thnk that Thomas may not have been Joseph's son
In 1911 when he married his age was given as 27.
Polly would that have been Mary Ann Yates?

Still not 100 percent sure it's the Thomas Beard born 1887 but it's most probably Joseph Beard married to Mary Ann Yates who he's connected to.I'm going to have to look up the birth.

Ok this is a strange one

the above is the family in 1911 that checks with the address on the marriage for Thomas

but it is odd his dob is out of synch with marriage in 1888 and other kids

and
the birth in 1887 for a Thomas Beard

but....we know his father is Joseph as he says that on marriage
