Ok I have looked up that marriage for Clara Parkes and ....................

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t925JwYXhVA

Ta dah!!

it is our George Harvey....I am sure of it
so that George in 1891 is this one

15 Feb 1880 St Thomas Dudley
George Harvey 34 widower Blacksmith Dudley William Harvey Blacksmith
Clara Parkes 29 spinster Dudley John Parkes dead moulder
banns
George signed
X Clara Parkes
Wit- James Beardsmore / X Esther Beardsmore

So that looks like his 2nd marriage

So either James is his son and son of Eliza Tromans
or
James is son of Clara and maybe George
or
James is not son of either

odd he calls his dau Clara
maybe he got on well with his stepmother......

I know father is George on James marriage
so perhaps George had an affair with Clara whilst eliza alive!

I have contacted the regis office re the ones in 1871 births but not heard back yet

Yes well done Jan? (northernlass) I always thought that the reason I couldnt find James on the 1881 census was that HIS father George had died so I was looking for widows instead of widowers in Staffordshire.
I will make some assumptions here and say that George married Clara Parkes while James was about 8-9, He doesnt follow the family trade of blacksmithing but moves to Barnsley to work as a coal miner living with the Allington family.I know that Phebe Dunn marries a William Harvey (1863) in 1883 and she is the daughter of Phoebe Allington. In 1891 the are living very near to where James is boarding. Both these Harveys move to Wingate in the early 1890s and both have a Clara and a Joseph as children.I think these 2 are related maybe cousins or even brothers ? What do you think ??
What about Frank and Edwin aren't they too old to fit in as they are 14 and 12 in 1891.
It still may be too early to call.
Lastly Northernlass, where do you fit in with the Harvey family and who are you descended from ?

and maybe James born about 1871 is too.

That marriage for William Harvey you mention do you have it?

is there a birth for a James Parkes around 1871?

I do not link to the Harveys I add to the Black Country Connections tree
click on my website link to read about that.
Pm me if you want to know more
it would be good to get these Harveys on

How do you and Val link?
