Samuel Homer and sibs

Post by linell »

linell wrote:Hi Jan, Mumbles, there seems to be two Samuel and Mary's one with roots in Kingswinford. The family I have Samuel Married to Mary Williams living Lawrence Lane Old Hill, seem to be wedded in the Old Hill area, family are also in Lawrence Lane, I don't know but I got the impression that particular Homer family had lived in the Lawrence Lane area for some time :?: Samuel in 1841 says he was living on Independent Means, and a Mary Talbot is in the Household aged 75 born in County, I wondered if she was Mary's Mother? May have Married twice etc etc. Homer was a very common name. Will get back to you if I think of anything else.

Linell.

I found some more information on Mary Talbot. Born about 1765 was Mary Homer Married John Talbot 11.9.1786 Kingswinford. Must be sister of Samuel:- http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... &ver=17695

John and Mary Talbot had these children Christened at Park Lane Cradley:-

William born 29.3.1790 Christened 19.5.1799 entry says John and Mary Talbot of Reddall Hill
Thomas also Christened 19.5.1799 again entry says Reddall Hill
Mary Ann born 6.12.1792 Christened 19.5.1799 entry says Reddall Hill
Benjamin Christened 24.4.1798 address is Near Gosty Hill Rowley Regis
Luce Hannah Christened 26.11.1804. Cannot look this entry up, will add to look ups with the Marriage of John Talbot and Mary Homer. Linell.

Hi Jan, there is no bap for Mary Homer circa 1765 with father Nehemiah, I think that Mary and Samuel Homer were maybe Christened in a Non Conformist Chapel. I don't think Nehemiah was Samuel's father either, there is nothing to say he was? The family were in Lawrence Lane Old Hill in 1841. Linell.

I agree about Nehemaih maybe not being Samuels father

the only thing that is linking it for me at the mo is that possible marriage for Samuel to a Mary Grove
and the wit Samuel Perry
Richard Perry son of Nehemiah marries Constance Perry and her bro is a Samuel

and

the other wit could be Sister of Samuel SArah HOmer
but it is not strong

going to look at that 1841
what is his dob that samuel?

Thanks Jan, can see where your coming from now, that all looks good, the Absalom has to be a connection, so ok we will leave Samuel 1778 as son of Nehemiah. Will wait on the look ups now, best wishes from Linell.
