COMPLETED---James Harvey /Tromans query

Post by HarvAdel »

Hello all and thanks for allowing me to join your site. I am researching the name HARVEY. My grandfather was a James Harvey born around 1872 dying in 1932 age 61 yo. He can't be found in the 1871 or 1881 censuses. In 1891 I believe he was boarding with the Allington family in Darfield Barnsley and working as a coal miner. The census says born Oldbury. Then he married Rebecca Mackay/ Mcnay in 1893 in Holy trinity church Wingate. In 1901 they are living with children in Wingate Durham he is a coal miner and born Yorkshire N.K (not known ) They are still there in 1911 and he says born in Barnsley, my dad George was born in 1913. Rebecca dies 1915.I have their marriage certificate and all it says is father a George Harvey blacksmith. No Mothers name, no siblings although a William Harvey is a witness with Ann Rudkin on the 1893 marriage certificate maybe an uncle, brother or grandfather ??? So in one census he says Staffordshire and the next he says Yorkshire?
I know George is the son of William Harvey a blacksmith from Oldbury and he married Eliza Trowmans, so I just need to tie in my James with George and Eliza.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

We have all been helping with this family recently. Eliza Tromans is the illegitimate daughter of Ann Tromans who then married Thomas Daniels - they are on the BCC tree here http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =967286845
I have been tracing the Harvey family personally and think that George may tie up to this family here http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... onnections, but there is a lot more work to be done first
There's no place like home ......

I think Eliza dies in 1877

and then we can't find them in 1881

and looks to me like George remarries a Clara

Jimmy found one in 1891 a James in Yorkshire?

Until that birth certif is looked at I think we are stuck

Clara Wycherley is NOT the second wife of our George Harvey. She was born in 1848 in Handsworth Staffs and he was born in Liverpool in 1847. Married in 1878 Tipton. George was a gasfitter in 1881 and a hair dresser in 1891 and 1901.. All on Bolstridge info.com
So Clara Parkes is more likely the one. Married 1880 Dudley west
