Introduction New Member Stockett

Hello, I am a new member, and this is my first post. I am doing personal research on the Stockett Family. My main area of interest right now is Stockett's in medieval England. My ancestor, Lewis (Lewys) Stockett was a Master Mason and later Surveyor of the Queen's Works for Queen Elizabeth I. I have also found much earlier Stockett's, but have not been able to link them up with each other or with Lewis. I am uncertain of Lewis' parents and siblings. The lineage from Lewis to Captain Thomas Stockett, who emigrated in 1658 to the colonies, is pretty clear, but the English connections still need more fleshing out. The Stockett's were Royalists and supported Charles I and II. I am very interested in this time-frame and their lives during that time.

I failed to mention that I am in the US. I am also researching the Ayleworth (Aylworth) side of my family in England, as well as the Stockett family. It does not seem that any Ayleworth's emigrated to the colonies.
