I'm trying to obtain information about my Great great grandfather. He was a casualty in WW1. I managed to get basic info from ancestry: regiment/rank, that sort of stuff.I need a pointer about where should I be looking for more detailed information? ie where and how he died. Is this kind of info even kept on record?

Re: First WW records
this is better search from cwgc as you get his no etc
http://www.cwgc.org/search/SearchResult ... &send.y=16
if you post that info in the military section below the lads might able to find some more on him, but quite a few of the records where destroyed

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Thanks for that. I didn't realise there was military section. I'll post a query over there.
