How daft can you be

Post by snoopysue »

The car started making funny noises yesterday - (clever husband said it sounded like a belt that was slipping) as it wasn't too long ago we had a service we took it in to be checked. Good thing we did apparently, as it was something to do with the alternater - surfice it to say engines don't interest me (cars yes, but as long as they're in working order don't want to know about the mechanics!). Anyway ended up leaving the car with the mechanic.

No problems there, apart from the fact that we were supposed to be visiting friends for a cuppa and a piece of cake - so some bright spark (yeh - that clever husband again!) suggested we cycled. :o
"It's only 15km" he says. So I thourght okay, how hard can that be? It was okay on the way there, a bit of a head wind in places (west Denmark you know!)and the sun was shining. On the way back it was getting dark, and the wind had dropped, could have done with that tail wind! Checked the cycle computer when we got home only 38km in total! So a little longer than promised - am I a bit sore or what!

I hope you have one of those Gel seats. Otherwise you will be uncomfortable for a while

No, I have a good old fashioned sit up and beg bike, although it does have a sprung seat and "suspension" bits for both the seat and handle bars. It's got dynamo lights that turn on all by themselves as it gets dark!

I cycle to work 14km there and i suppose the same back. It's quite flat where i live but it always seems to be head winds!!
I've had to get an extra saddle cover put on cos i suffer from "numb penis syndrome".Chris Boardman suffered with it as well. Can i say that on here or should i say peter?

My problem is I'm not used to it, and having a slipped disc doesn't help much - therefore the granny cycle!!!
