THOMAS FAMILY JOHN BROTHER

Found Thomas son of John Evans and Mary on the 1881 Census and because of the name he calls his dau "Priscilla" ties it in nicely to that family on the 1851/61/71 Census.

I think that is your family with your George.

Mary must die betw 1871 and 1881 and George goes to live with his Step mum Sara (Downing).

There is that bapt on IGI 1864 to a John and Mary.

There is a marriage to a Maria Smith that may fit in 1848.. certainly around 1848 is about the right year.
Dont think he married a Mary ann this John. Certainly not Shin anyway.
But easy to check on the marriages around that time and see if father of one of the Johns who marries a Mary is a Joseph.
Perhaps in 1881 he is elsewhere earning money?

A death for this Mary would be useful to find?

Lots of my relatives had pubs in the Dudley area (bit worrying really) and a some of them had other jobs too

maybe that is why she puts downing on 2nd marriage
