Could have been St Giles, Rowley Regis. Or Birmingham Road Methodist, which was just around the corner from Avenue Road. Depends when it was though.

Just had a look on Google and it's that lovely little road just off the Oldbury Road by the new Lidl. Went up that road a few weeks ago. I'll try St Giles and St Pauls looks as if it's just around the corner.
