Advice on software

Post by paulm »

Hi

I am new to this area I am wanting to use geneaology software for academic purposes.

What I need is a software tool that can :-
1) Read the GEDCOM input format (the output from my current software - Generations)
2) Generate relationship reports ideally in tab or comma delimited format that can show whether all relations are on the maternal or paternal side of the focal individuals family

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul

I recently purchased "Family Tree Maker 2011" and its the best tree making software I have used.
I think this program covers pretty much all your looking for. Take a look and checkout the reviews first.
I have been using it for the last couple of weeks and I am very impressed.
Hope this helps
Mark.
