*Archive* Sarah Whale

Post by markwhale46 »

I have came to a complete halt. I have being tracing Sarah Whale (Burkett) since her birth in 1811 (Landbeach, Cambridge) to her marriage to John Provident Whale in 1828 at St Mary, Whitechapel, London. She had eight children, the last, Sarah (born 1852). She lost her husband John in June 1852 just two months after her youngest (Sarah) being born. There are records showing that she had two children baptised in 1856 (Sarah 1852 and Joseph Daniel 1847) and she is listed in the 1851 census but I have no trace of her from 1856. There is no record of her in the census (after 1851) no marriage or death record.
Where did she go? Any help would be very gratefully received.
Thank you

Possible

1871 Albion Place, Bethnal Green
WALE, Sarah Head F 60 1811 Middlesex Mangle Keeper??
WALE, Joseph Son M 22 1849 Middlesex Preacher??
WALE, Sarah Daughter F 19 1852 Middlesex
WALE, James Grandson M 7 1864 Middlesex

If we go with these perhaps others could look at occupations and see if they can make anything other than these translations!

Thank you very much for this information. I have had some problems getting logged into this site all day. At a glance, I would say that this is the Whale family that I am researching but need to check on some maths regarding ages. There does seem to be a discrepancy with one or two of the ages that I need to check.
The chap on HMS Styx was my great great grandfather, so I know he is spot on.
I do not know if recommendation for search sites is permitted but I am researching through Ancestry.co.uk. Is there alternatives or is this site recommended?
Interested in knowing what you use.

Thanks again for your help

Hi Mark, personally I use Ancestry.co.uk and I'd be lost without it!
