Asking for a Favor

Post by juju0529 »

I hope this is allowed here, but, anyway, here goes. I wonder if there is anyone who lives in Manchester on this site who would either tell me or has pictures of what is on the following locations present day.

#7 Church St. Hulme, St. George's
96 Railway Bridge, Barton-on-Irwell, St. Mary's.
Regent St. (is it commercial now or still dwellings)

I'm not asking for anyone to go on an excursion. Just if you happen to live or work near there or have a directory or something. These are places my ggggrandparents lived and I'd like to know for some reason. These homes on these locations probably aren't there anymore, but, I'd still like to know. Maybe someday, I can go see for myself.
Anyway, thanks for considering it.

May be if you could give us some more information?
Have you found the place on census, names, so we can peek at the area they were in?

The names are George and Elizabeth Gregory and they were on Regent Rd. in the 1841 census, on Railway Bridge in 1851.
George died and then Elizabeth was head of household in 1961 on Church St. in Hulme.
I know the English are far more likely to preserve a building and just change it into something else than we Americans are, which I LOVE about the English. So, I'm kinda hoping that, although whatever structure my ancestors lived in, it might have been kept intact and just renovated into something else.
