*Arc pending lookup*-Phoebe Hadley1815 who were her parents?

Post by carolejcompton »

I'm stuck, trying to find Phoebe Hadleys family. Has this been done before here? Been looking cant find anything.
Phoebe married William Layton 1837 (i found that here). But where did she come from? BCC baptism, i believe that Ann Allen was probably her mother. Phoebe, daughter of John and Mary has a listing that she married a Wakefield. Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks

so the census proves that john and mary, phoebe married edward wakefield so therefore

Poss PHOEBE HADLEY Christening, 24 MAY 1816. Halesowen, Worcester, Parents: JOHN HADLEY. ANN ALLEN

is the husband of william layton

Carole what im trying to prove is by ruling out the phoebe that married edward wakefield, the one that married william layton, her mother most likely be ann allen as we have no direct proof she is, so the census above give us a strong possibility that ann is her mother. unless there is another pheobe we havent found ?

I think Mary Wife above was Mary Siviter Married John Hadley Old Swinford 1813. Looks as though this Phoebe Wife of Wm Wakefield was daughter of Mary Siviter, not Ann Allen.

Carole the local paper was the County Express. HTH from Linell.

You've got me thinking now Pete :?: Must check the ones I have, sure they must have done :?:

We could look up the burial if we could find it. Trouble is with the name Ann, she could have been called, Annie, Hannah etc etc :?:

Later from Linell.

On Ancestry it has marriage transcription
John Hadley
Ann Ellen
9 Nov 1812
Clent, Worcestershire

Do you think that maybe her name is spelt wrong...it is a transcript.
