The 1901 census has him with his parents in Brandon, Co Durham. They are probably in the same locale. I just need conformation that his wife is polly so I can start searching for her maiden name.

Polly was a common nickname for Mary.
You have to learn nicknames if you are going to be this for a while as they are the names passed "word of mouth".
