It is indeed a cruel month. The Bill ends next week, and this weekend signals the end of Last of the Summer Wine. Oh, and the weather is shockingly bad too. My poor wardrobe doesn't know how to cope. I have winter clothes and summer clothes, but I don't have anything that can cope with this weather of pouring down one second, baking hot the next.

Its not as sunny as you think Snoopsue. The light being reflected off all of those untanned English, Welsh and Scotts is making the day seem a lot brigther.

Now i like Chinese wine.A fruity Xinjiang goes down a treat with poached salmon.
To drink it in the sunshine would be an added delight.

Rumour has it that September is meant to be very nice. To quote the person who told me "We're supposed to be getting an Indian summer"

It's been a gorgeous day in Manchester today.
Picadilly Gardens had their fountains going today, so lots of young people running around in them with the police just watching them. It did get to one point over lunch where it was near impossible to see any grass though, everyone was out trying to get a tan.
