BBC Proms

Post by brickwalls »

Does anyone actually watch/listen to the proms, aside from the last night?

Every year I try and at least listen to them, but I somehow find myself getting bored. But, for some reason, I can easily sit through the last night of the proms without so much as getting up to have a cigarette.

Quite a nice thought when you consider what we're all doing

When I lived in the UK I tried watching them too, to see what sort of classical music I actually liked, sometimes I 'd give up, but sometimes I'd find something I liked that I'd never heard before. I discovered I quite like Russian composers. I always used to collect the cupons in the radio times and send off for the CD, again to see if I liked any of it.

The last night is something special though, I miss watching that.
