You do realise only weight watcher recipes will be allowed in January? Maybe we should do one in December -while I am at home and before the diet season starts

Ok- I've been looking for something different to Pork for my offering.

Found a recipe called Fishermans Cobbler- it's sort of White fish covered in a cheese scone type topping.
Doesn't sound too scary to try.

Can i have a go? Can i ? :lol:

I love Indonesian food and this is so easy to make.Well, i think so.

Nasi Goreng Jawa (Javanese Fried Rice).
Cooking time: 15 - 20 minutes
Ingredients:

1 Chicken fillet, cut into small pieces

2 cups of cold cooked rice

2 tablespoons of oil

100 g cabbage, shredded

2 eggs

Ready use fried Shallot/Onions

Spice Paste

3 shallots or 1 medium onion, peeled and sliced

2 cloves of garlic, peeled and sliced

2 red chillies, seeded

1/2 medium fresh tomato

2 tablespoon sweet soy sauce ( kecap manis )

Salt to taste

Directions:

1. Blend or grind the spice paste. Set aside.

2. Gently beat the eggs together with salt, then heat up the frying pan with 1 tablespoon of oil and pour the egg mixture into the centre of the pan. Cook over a medium heat for few minutes. Set aside. When it's cold, roll the omelette then cut into small pieces.

3. In remaining oil, fry the chicken until colour turns into light brown or cooked. And then sauté the spice paste until fragrant, add the cabbage and all the rest of the stuff. Cook for a few minutes. After that bring the rice to fry, add sweet soy sauce and stir constantly until well mixed and heated through.

4. Serve and garnished with fried shallot and omelette, if liked with fresh vegetables pickles ( Acar Mentah ) and krupuk ( prawn crackers )

Hmmm lekker!! 8)

I'll be having a go. They all sound yummy so far. It'll be hard to choose. I remember a dish called Janssen's Temptation. Now how did it go? It was Scandanavian ... Gardener, do you know of it?

Here it is. It's Swedish.\:

Janssen's Temptation.

INGREDIENTS

* 10 large potatoes - peeled and sliced thin
* 2 onion, peeled and sliced
* 20 anchovy fillets, drained and brine reserved
* 295 ml cream
* 15 g bread crumbs
* 30 g butter

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees (225 degrees C).
2. Place a layer of sliced potatoes onto the bottom of a large baking dish. Top the potatoes with a layer of sliced onions, and then a layer of anchovy fillets. Repeat layers up to the top of the dish, ending with a layer of potatoes on top. Drizzle about 2/3 of the cream over the dish, and the reserved liquid from the anchovies. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top, and dot with pieces of butter.
3. Bake for 30 minutes on the middle rack of the oven. Add the remaining cream, and continue baking for another 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
