ARC tbc - Missing Uncle

Post by danieljksn »

Hello,

My uncle, James Edgar Ellison was born on the 22nd of November, 1907 at 43 West Bowling Green Street, Leith, Edinubrgh.

But then he doesn't seem to have ever died. I can't find his death in he U.K, or on any war graves, and I'm not sure what to try next. I couldn't find him on any outgoing passenger lists either. He may have married a Franes Morrison in 1936, but the only evidence I have of thatis that someone in Edinburgh with his name married a Frances Morrison.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know that he must have died at some point, because when they were alive I knew all of his other brothers and sisters. I just can't remember them ever talking about him.

Thanks,

Daniel

It's actually James Edgar Ellison, I made a mistake in my original post.

I have his parents wedding certificate, but it doesn't help much in working out what happened to him. After he was born there just doesn't seem to be any mention of him anywhere ever again.

I'm just curious really. It seems a bit odd to dissapear like that!

As far as I'm aware you can't view the 1911 census for Scotland yet..

This is true but following on from looking at that I have found that the 1939 Identity card information can be purchased for Scotland as well as England whether you have sufficient info to apply for it is something that would need to be looked into
