Wise Family

Post by rayh »

WISE family.
I very sorry but I very little to go on but the following is the little I have.,,,,,,,,,,

Caroline Louisa WISE m. Harry Herbert Button on the 21 Oct. 1894 St. Saviour, Paddington, London.
Her parents were George WISE [Laborer] Mother unknown.
To get a ball park figure on Caroline's age, Harry's b.1869-d.1927.

Can we trace her family back, that would be my aim.

Once again sorry to have so little to give you.
Anything you can wring out of that I would be truly appreciative.

I have not been to this forum for sometime but see it is look brilliant.
Best to all, Rayh

Lookng at the Church Register for the marriage....

She is 25 years of age and he is 25.

Both living at 97 Kilburn Park Road.

Both signed the register.

Emma Button was one of the witness. Can't read the other.

Hi Listers,
I wonder if I could have your thoughts on this.....
George Wise b1815 [ father of Caroline Louise.] b/cen rg11 0039
Father; George b.1791 b/cen. 1841 H107 61 5]
Mother, Charlotte b. 1796.
Siblings.
George b1811 [4 yr differential ]
John b.1821
Charlotte b.1826
Frederick b. 1831.

George and Caroline [Tompkins] b. Thame, Buckingham.
Source; Freebdm q4 1864 15 251

Another marriage suggested--
Jonathan Wise m. Charlotte Brown 12/10/1804.
Jonathan Snr. is supposed to be George Wise b.1791's father . Taking a reasonable 20yrs from the marriage date gives me the approximate birth date of 1784.
Giving the other date the same treatment is just as ugly.

Family Search [pilot]
dd/mm/yyyyy
1) George bp 18/07/1814 [Bap. 17/7/1814 Stoke Poges]
2) Jonathan ( John ) 6/7/1823
3) Sarah 20/06/1818
4) Joseph 9/12/1817
5) Frederick 19/06/1825
6) Charlotte 10/06/1821 All Stoke Poges Bucks

George is ok but the other siblings are all over the shop. That is when compared to the siblings list above.

I'd value your thoughts.
Regards, Rayh

1841 census is meant have people over the age of 15 rounded down to the lower 5 years, so a 19 year old should be shown as 15. 28 as 25 etc...
It wasnt always the case though.
If its christenings you have looked at, they could be any age when it was. Not soon after they were born.
Ages and places of birth can be all sorts in census. Its just what has been put down.

Confusing but adds to the fun!
