Wasps

I have just been out gardening...came in cos it was too hot!!

and noticed we have a wasps nest in the rafters!
now we sprayed some stuff on one a while ago and it left a mess outside the window
which we still have to clear up...everyone still awake!

anyway....anyone any non messy ideas to get rid of them pls
as want to paint the guttering etc

The Council will remove them for you, my daughter had some removed and it cost about £30.

Save your money do it yourself or get WolfMan to do it!!
But you need to find out if they're Social or Solitary wasps!! I think what you have are Social Wasps.They like to nest in the roof.
So to get rid of them it is advisable to destroy the wasp nest either after sunset or before sunrise.The reason is by dusk the wasps fly back to their nest and they are in their nest till sunrise.
You must wear clothes made out of rubber you've probably got one left over from the '80's!!
Just destroy the nest.Your rubber suit will protect you!!
Another way is that Wasps are attracted to anything sweet and sugary. Here is another home remedy to get rid of the wasps that are hanging around your house or garden. Make a hole in the lid of an empty can. The can should resemble the gallon milk jugs. Fill it half with sugar water or sugar syrup. If the can has a handle, hang it on the tree branch, using a string. The wasps will be attracted to the smell of sugar. Once they enter the can their wings will get stuck in the sugar water. Eventually they will die drowning in the sugar syrup.

did it yesterday at mothers you get a foam and spray into the entrance to the nest early morning or late evening
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Yeah and it leaves a rite mess!

how do you get the foam off when dried after years!

I remember you mentioning it some time ago and it kind of just stuck in my mind.
Well i say stuck in my mind the thought of it was i have to admit traumatizing at the time but i got over it.
Eventually.
Now i'm worried i may have recurring nightmares!!

We have 2 now!!

Just been outside

Wolive is allergic to their stings
bit like he is allergic to work ...... :twisted:

So will call someone to get rid of them

Ok this really has a sting in the TALE!!

Called guy to get rid of wasps ...nice chap....
will pass over the price it cost :shock:

3 nests dealt with
and another 3 dead ones in loft!!!

So last year we must have had 3 nests that we didn't know of!
I don't go up in our loft but Wolvie does!

Three nests thats a lot , I'd be glad to have got rid of those . :shock:
