Rosetta Hall was b 1871 West Browmich

I ordered her birth certificate as her mother was widowed in the 1871 Census:

Sarah Ann Hall 24 - Widow (Mar crossed out)
Frederick 1
Rosetta 2mths

Her father looks like and Abel, and her maiden name was Hall too.

So i look for marriages between Sarah Ann(e) Hall and Abel Hall - there is only 1 listed in 1879! , after the birth (Kings Norton - Volume: 6c Page: 547

So why would there be a "formerly Hall", listed on the birth cert as if she was married?
