Post by spikemaker »

Hello again,
before I registered I noticed some old forum questions about Elizabeth Byng who was my grandmother. I cant help with the Byng side of the family but I can on her husband George Williams's side who was obviously my grandfather. I would be happy to share information regarding ancestors and decendants. Please let me know if I can help.
Thanks very much to all the members who welcomed me, its lovely that people would take the time to do that and it is appreciated greatly.

A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Hi Spikemaker
As you can see from bcc tree George and Elizaberth were parents of Thomas William who married Lily Parsons.
In turn their daughter Iris Williams married Reginald Lowe and their daughter Pamela ( not on bcc as still living) married my Cousin John Brookes (still living) son of Charles Brookes my fathers Brother.
John and Pam lived in Blackberry Lane after marriage which was where most of Pam's ancestors lived

Hi Mumbles,
I know John and Pam, Pam's mom Iris and her sister Brenda were my cousins, I last saw them at my cousin Barry's wife,s funeral. Barry is the only son of the second Joseph born to George and Elizabeth, the first Joseph died after swallowing a penny. My father was Howard, twin of Minnie, and Walter was the youngest son. I think that covers all the children. There is another tenuous link on your side, my sister in law's father was Joe Brooks at whose funeral was the previous time I had met up with John and Pam. If you were there we have met!
When I have been on this forum a bit longer and have found my way around, I will be able to supply photos of George and Elizabeth, and there is a group photo of the family at a trip to Blackpool sitting on the hotel steps, I should think they would have needed a coach to themselves, there are so many of them.I can also go back another two generations to a Thomas Williams, father of John, father of Charles who is the first on this tree. I would be happy to fill in the missing info regarding ancestors and decendants when I can fathom out how to do it, assuming there is interest of course. I notice that Northern Lass is researching Hinett's, as a matter of interest my cousin Dot, daughter of Lizzie married a Joe Hinett who came from Tipton!

Hi Spikemaker,
Joseph Brookes was my uncle who lived in Cotswolds before moving to Care Home in Stourbridge before he died.
Yes I was at funeral so we must have met.
If you send a personal message I can give you my e-mail address.
I have given a lot of family history to John and Pam .
When we were children we used to visit John's parents at School Lane and if I remember right Pam lived in same courtyard of houses.

Regards Mumbles
