Tonights the Night or Morning! -Sponsoring...

Post by grangers14 »

Do you get fed up with sponsoring people?
I know we  sometimes at so many we do...
Tomorrow my hubby, son and daughter are doing a sponsored walk for CF, they did get some sponsors for it and pay a registration fee.
3 weeks time they are doing The Lyke Wake Walk, its for Macmillan Cancer care, to take part they have to have £100 each in sponsor money aswell as paying a registering fee. :?
So looks like we have to dig deep this time! :o Because we dont like to ask for sponsors again.

Whats your thoughts?
Jo :)

yep what im saying rob a charity should appreciate any money raised for them not to insist that you pay a registation fee and raise a minimum of 100 pounds any money coming in is better than none

I agree with you Peterd a charity should appreciate any amount in sponser money when people have been good enough to walk and raise it.

Our daughter is about to do a Douglas Macmillan Hospice - 10 mile Midnight to Sunrise Walk

My hubby asked her "Will you be carrying a torch or perhaps a candle"? She replied "no...just a bottle of gin" :o

Agree Peter!
They have reduced it to £50.00 each  Still have registration to pay for though. Going to a good charity though.

 Mallosa! Hope she managed ok, I could have helped.. with the Gin!

Lyke Wake walk is 42 miles I think ? Hubby has done ie before and my other daughter done it when she was 16. It took her 21 1/2 hrs in rain, hail and snow.
But she did it
Fingers crossed they get through it ok.

She's not doing it until the 25th Jo - I think the Gin was a joke cos I've never known her to drink it

Did you daughter do ok Mallosa? I hope so.

Two weeks ago My husband and daughter did a 10 mile walk for CF at Whitby, they loved it.

Today has been sorting things for "The Big One" making sure they have everything. They will be setting off 3.00 am from Osmotherley off to Ravenscar.
So will be an early night for us tomorrow! :?
Fingers crossed they manage with no problems!

Just to let you know they did it!
Took them 16 hrs, thats really quite good to do 42 miles over the terrain.
Today they look a cross between zombies and wooden tops!
No digging in our pockets either not all sponsor money accounted for but over £560.00 so far from them!
I'm well proud of them! Hubby says Never again!
