*Arc tbc* ------What do you think?

Post by BostinFittle1982 »

I'm trying to find the Surname of one of my husbands's Grandmothers Mary. She is the mother of Ragan/Raque/Rague Hackett (1805) and wife of Jos. Hackett. Using family search I found two possible Joseph Hacketts marrying a Mary at the time a) 16 July 1793 in Halesowen to Mary Parkes or b) 5 Aug 1792 in Kingswinford to a Mary Stokes. On Black Country Connections Jan found Regan Hackett marrying a Rosanna Priest at Oldswinford in 1827. I know its a reach but considering Oldswinford isn't really that far from Kingswinford do you think they may be the parents of Regan?

Hi bostinfittle, yes Old Swinford St Mary's is only about 3 miles from St Mary's Kingswinford. However I can tell you that they married anywhere in about a 10 mile radius. I have Halesowen Families that Married at Rowley Regis and vice versa, some of them also Married at Old Swinford, Kingswinford, Dudley, Clent and B'ham, so in reality your family could be any of the ones you have listed. Try the process of illimination, and follow name patterns. I'll have a look on my discs for you. Linell.

Sorry only had the Halesowen one. Joseph Hackett Bach otp and Mary Parkes spinster otp by Banns. Witnesses were John Parkes and Richard Fiddian, he was a Church Warden. John Parkes could be Mary's brother or father. HTH from Linell.
