Looking for info on Charles Noons - he is found in the 1851 and 1861 censuses living in Dartford Kent and shows his birthplace as Tring, Hertforshire in 1814.
He Married a Louisa/Luisa (b Lambeth, London) and had 8 Children.
I believe he died in 1869 so that explains his not appearing in the 1871 census.
Questions:
1) Why no reference in the 1841 census?
2) What is Louisa's Maiden Name - I cant find a reference to their marriage in freebmd or the parish records?
3) Any more info on his Birth etc? Again I cant find any reference to any noons living in Hertforshire at this time!
Thanks

Re: Charles Noons - b Tring, Herts 1814 d Dartford, Kent 186
Hi
I think this is the GRO reference for the marriage:
Charles Noons
Year of Registration: 1842
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
District: Lewisham
County: Greater London, Kent, London
Volume: 5
Page: 409
There is a Louisa LOCKS on the same page, so I think this probably the right one.
There can be any number of reasons why he is not showing up on the 1841 census. Sometimes a very bad mis-spelling or bad transcription can prevent an individual from showing up when you do a search. The same goes for baptism records if you've been using Family Search. Have you tried putting in every different spelling you can imagine? Newn, Nunn, Moon, Nune, Ninns all spring to mind. Even the phonetic searches don't always come up with every possibility so you need to play around.
If you order the marriage certificate, this should give his father's name, and you could then try locating the father on the census, if he was still alive.
Hope this helps

Looking at the entry in the Parish register...
Marriage was Parish Church, St Nicholas, Plumstead, Kent on 31st October 1842.
Both were "of Age"
Bride looks like Louisa Lack but one of the witness is Susanna Lock so take your pick....
Her signature looks like Lack. Charles signed with a cross.
Her father looks like George Lack a Painter.
His father is James Noons a Servant.
Charles is a Cutler or Butler...
Happy to sent you the church record if you leave your e-mail in a PM.
