Researching an Austrian branch?

Post by Fatman »

Helping my girlfriend do her family tree (should help when we come to merge trees ;)) and one side of her family is from Austria.

Her grandad fought in the war and met her gran whilst in Austria. They were married in the UK but I cant find the cert as I dont know the location.

What other avenues could I take?

Can you not pick them up by a rough year and names using freebmd?

If you give the names someone may help.

Are you able to speak with them if they arre still alive?
They may have some info.
I was looking for possible births to try and narrow down a possible marriage.
Are you certain they married in the UK?
